UK Music News: Amy Winehouse Found Dead in Her Home
Talented singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her North London flat on Saturday 23rd July 2011 by the emergency services at roughly 4pm.
According to sources from the Sky corporation the Rehab singer was ‘beyond help’ when paramedics arrived and it is believed that her untimely death is down to a fatal drugs overdose although a police spokesman said the cause of death was ‘uncertain’, urging reporters not to speculate. .
A spokesman from Scotland Yard confirmed that a postmortem has not been scheduled yet but will more than likely be carried out by Monday 25th Jul 2011.
The tragic news comes after months of ridicule and bad press regarding her lackluster performances in Europe which lead to the troubled singer being forced to cancel other shows through out the month of June 2011.
Mitch Winehouse (Amy’s father) is believed to be on his way back to the UK after being forced to cancel his own show in New York, a statement on The Blue Night Jazz Club’s website read: ‘We are very sad to report that the Mitch Winehouse performance on Monday July 25th is cancelled due to the unexpected death of his daughter, Amy Winehouse.
‘Our condolences go out to Mitch and his family.’ Mitch is now on his way back from New York’
Five time Grammy award winner Amy Winehouse had a continuous problem with addiction to class A drugs throughout her prestigious music career and failed with numerous attempts to try and overcome her addictions.
Regardless of the controversy surrounding her battles with drug addiction Amy Winehouse was without doubt one of the most talented musicians of all time which is how the Back To Black singer will always be remembered.
At only 27 years of age one thing is for certain, this special young woman had a lot more to give to the world and her death is a massive loss.
