Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Hi everyone, I am Lady Marga MC and I’m a MC & singer and i write my own music, my style is dance, pop, hip hop, with a dash of ragga I was born and grew up in East London, and have been doing music all my life.

What made you choose the name?

It was a nickname given to me from one of my family member, growing up they called me “Marga”, its a Jamician slang meaning skinny so i keep it and just put the Lady at the beginning and put the MC at the end. Now that I’m all grown up haha

What, if any, are the main influences for you when writing your music?

I get influenced by so many things when I’m writing, what ever is going on in my life I write about. I’m influenced by some of the great new artists that are in the industry now, such as: Adele, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, J Cole and Nicki Minaj, I also grow up listening to different genres of music such as Motown, Reggae, Indie, Dancehall, Pop, Dance, Old Skool Garage and I also love House Music and Drum’n’Bass. All these various sounds have influenced me greatly.

At what age did you first decide to make Hip Hop music?

From a very early age, from about the age of 10. I actually was a member of a girl group when i was at school, I was always singing, then when I discovered Rinse FM and heard acts such as: Wiley, Heartless Crew and Pay As U Go, i knew that i wanted to be an MC, i was also influenced by early grime and old school UK garage, also i use to listen to my favorite rapper Missy Elliott too. All these acts made me want to pick up the mic and start rapping.

What is the main theme behind your current release?

There isn’t really a theme as such i just wanted to do a mixtape with a bit of everything. That people, my fans and everyone can in enjoy.
